Mission  

To facilitate management, presentation and appreciation of the performing arts though information services. 

 

Goals To generate ongoing value from the work of the Dennis Wolanski Library of the Performing Arts.

To provide a Web-based information service.

To assist other organisations to manage their arts information resources.

To stimulate collaboration in the management of arts information.

To reduce anomalies relating to material transferred from the Dennis Wolanski Library of the Performing Arts to other organisations.

 
Programs  

Information services

  Website
The Wolanski Foundation’s website, currently being redeveloped, provides information on the arts, theatre, circus, vaudeville, puppetry, music, dance, film, radio, television and related practices in libraries, archives, museums and associations. It is included in the National Library of Australia’s PANDORA archive of Australian websites.

Research
The site has numerous papers, articles, bibliographies, chronologies and other features on the Australian cultural history, Sydney Opera House and information management.

Enquiries
The Foundation provides limited telephone and email responses to those seeking additional advice.

Cross Currents
The Foundation produces an irregular digest, Cross Currents, to highlight events and trends in the arts and management of information and cultural resources.

 
Assistance to Other Organisations

In January 2005, the Wolanski Foundation formed a partnership with the National Institute of Dramatic Art to assist the development of the NIDA archives and Seaborn Broughton Walford collections. It is also discussing possible forms of assistance with a number of other institutions.
